BIOGRAPHY OF
RESTORATION

Ron Allen started Restoration in 1997. The singers were Bob Kelly, Boyd Watts and Ron Allen, traveling many miles for the Lord and seeing many souls uplifted and come to the alter seeking  Christ. They stayed together for a few years and decided to change the group to a quartet by adding Jerry Facemyer as baritone and sang that way for a while.  During that time, Bobby Kelly had to leave because of his working conditions and that was when we brought Jerry's wife on board as alto and we kept singing. Boyd became sick with cancer and went home to be with the Lord and the group  went back to a trio. Jerry, Gloria and Ron continued singing for about 10 years. Then Jerry and Gloria decide to hang it up feeling that they had travelled enough. That is when Dianne and Ron decided to go on as a duet and keep working for the Lord.
Ron and Dianne are members of Rev. Jimmy Sanders’s Congregation at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Chester, SC. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Rock Hill, SC where he had been the music director. Ron also had been the music director for three and a half years at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Chester back in the 90's. Prior to this, he was minister of music at Oakdale Nazarene, in Rock Hill, SC. He spent most of his adult life in the Nazarene church here in Chester.
Ron was a member of “The Goodnewsmen Qt.” out of  Spartanburg, SC for nineteen years singing lead and baritone. He was also part of the “Carolina State Qt“ out of Rock Hill, SC for over two years.
You will always see him with his loving wife, Dianne. She has always been as much a part of the group as the others, She was always in the back ground doing the things that needed to be done to help the group stay on the road. Then when all left, Ron decided to let her sing a few songs and help more in the working of the program. Ron feels that God isn't through with him yet so he keeps working and singing. Also he speaks for pastors when they are out of town for vacation or other reasons.
The reason Ron and Dianne continues the group, is his pastor and others tell him that he should just go out on their own, that if God wants him to have more singers He will send them. If not, just keep on keeping on for the Lord.
Although they are uniquely gifted, the combination of their diversified talents and their love for the Lord makes them loved by many people across the country. Their program is designed to not only the older gospel song lovers of “Southern Gospel Music”, but to the new generations as well. Their roots go back to those brush arbor times and the all-night concerts. They have one common goal: that is to be the best they can be for the glory of the Lord, as they present the gospel in song and in word. As David said in the Book of Psalms, “Restore unto me the joys of Thy salvation”. We hope we can help restore the spirit of God’s people back to a fuller walk with their Lord. Also draw those who do not know Him as their Savior, to the knowledge of a sweet and loving SAVIOR.
